Are you a melt?
Some things just belong together. Fish and chips.. Rain and Sundays.. Putting the kettle on when you've got absolutely no idea what else to do. And now, we'd like to make a case for another great duo: tea and chocolate.
That's why we've teamed up with our friends at Yorkshire Tea. 'Cause while we're known for our deliciously chunky chocolate and they're famous for proper brews, we've both been championing one very important part of culture for years.. The tea break.
Turns out, the science agrees
If you've ever reached for a piece of chocolate alongside your morning brew, congratulations. You were ahead of the curve. Working with a psychobiology expert, we discovered that tea and chocolate have seriously good chemistry. Tea's natural compounds are associated with relaxation, while chocolate contains compounds linked to alertness and elevated mood. Together, they create a balance that's basically the perfect excuse for another tea break. ☕🍫
The flavours work brilliantly together, too. Chocolate's sweetness can help balance tea's gentle bitterness, while a warm cuppa helps chocolate release even more of its flavour.
In short? Tea and chocolate are a match made in tea-break heaven.
The nation already knows
To celebrate our partnership, we asked the nation about their tea-and-chocolate habits and it turns out we're onto something. A whopping 80% of Brits enjoy a sweet treat with their tea, and two-thirds are already dunking chocolate in their brew. So maybe the real question isn't whether tea and chocolate belong together.. Maybe it's.. Are you a Melt?
Not just any melt
We're looking for the Ultimate Melt. The one who's always known that tea and chocolate make the perfect pairing. The one who's been dunking chunks of Tony's into their brew long before there was science to back it up.

Competition Terms & Conditions
Open to residents of the UK and Ireland aged 18 years or over. Competition closes at 12:00pm on Monday 2nd November 2026. One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries and contacted via a Tony's Chocolonely employee (email domain: @tonyschocolonely.com)
The prize consists of:
52 x 180g Tony's Chocolonely chocolate bars (equivalent to a year's supply)
12 x boxes of 240 Yorkshire Tea teabags (2,880 teabags in total), or a decaf alternative if preferred
