PLEASE NOTE:

Tony’s Chocolonely UK is recalling certain batches of 2 specific products, due to the potential presence of foreign object - small stones, in the product. Whilst the chance of any individual product being affected is low, we have decided to take this step in order to ensure the safety and satisfaction of Tony’s Chocolonely consumers.

The 2 products affected are the Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar 180g and the Everything Bar 180g with specific lot codes.

A lot code is a unique identifier assigned to a specific batch or quantity of products manufactured under the same conditions, used for tracking and traceability. It is printed on the side of the bar, usually starting with the letter L.

This recall only affects these specific products and lot codes. All other Tony’s Chocolonely products remain safe to consume and are not impacted.

Do you have a bar with the impacted lot number(s)? Please don’t eat the chocolate. Instead, we kindly ask you that you return the product to the store where you bought it for a refund or replacement, even if you don't have a receipt.

Tony’s Chocolonely is recalling certain batches of 2 specific products, due to the potential presence of foreign object - small stones - in the product. Whilst the chance of any individual product being affected is low, we have decided to take this step to ensure the safety and satisfaction of Tony’s Chocolonely consumers.

Certain batches of 2 specific Tony’s Chocolonely’s bars were impacted. You can identify these by their lot code, which is printed on the side of the bar, usually starting with the letter L.

A lot code is a unique identifier assigned to a specific batch or quantity of products manufactured under the same conditions, used for tracking and traceability.

Products with the following lot numbers are affected:

UK:

  • Green and blue lettering, with a yellow flavour ribbon: Dark Almond Sea Salt 180glot numbers 164078, 162633, 162614, PL162614, 163061, 163472

No, it is only specific batches of 2 products that are affected. All other Tony’s products are not impacted.

Currently, we are only recalling products from the specified lot codes that have not been eaten.

  1. Check the lot code (which is printed on the side of the bar starting with the letter L), and if it is one of the products affected, do not eat it.
  2. Please take the product back to the retailer you bought it from.
  3. If you bought your bar on Tony's online choco shop, fill in the form on this page below. You will be required to submit a photo of the packaging with the lot code so we can issue a refund.

Once we started to receive consumer complaints, we were able to trace the issue back to one of our almond suppliers.  After further investigation, it appears that a new origin of almonds in a limited batch was insufficiently processed at the supplier's factory, resulting in a risk of foreign objects - small stones - being present in the final products that were made.

Have you bought a bar with an affected LOT code from us online? Haven’t eaten it yet? Let’s keep it that way and tell us all about it below.

Dear Tony’s Chocolonely,

I'm writing to you because I bought a bar from you online and my bar has an affected LOT code.
